My mission is to unlock greater health and wellness through addressing tongue ties, oral dysfunction and promoting good jaw and airway development in childhood.
I help people overcome challenges with infant feeding, swallowing, breathing, chewing, and speech, and guide good jaw development in children.
Helping the mouth work well and guiding the jaws to grow properly are important for good airway health, and better breathing and sleep for life.
When mouth function and jaw development go off track, this begins a downhill slide of dysfunctional breathing including mouth breathing, snoring and Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA) later in life.
These airway problems often remain undiagnosed despite significant symptoms such as restless or fragmented sleep, low energy, poor concentration and attention, behavioural and learning problems, poor speech and language development, teeth grinding, bedwetting, anxiety, depression, headaches and increased risk of virtually every chronic health disease into adulthood.
Symptoms are often managed without any consideration of underlying airway issues, poor mouth function or poor jaw structure.
To secure a child’s brightest future, I advocate the alternative path of promoting airway health and restorative sleep as early as possible.
I hope this site will offer some answers to your questions whether you’re looking for help for you or your child, interested in referring a patient or collaborating, or looking for a speaker on tongue ties or airway health.

Dr Shereen Lim was one of Australia’s first handful of dentists to obtain a qualification in dental sleep medicine and has a decade of experience working with patients with snoring and obstructive sleep apnoea. She is an engaging speaker who is calling for a reformed approach to care.
Rather than managing dysfunctional breathing and its consequences, Dr Lim is focused on promoting airway health. This means reinforcing nasal breathing and promoting good airway development from infancy as keys to sleeping well, thriving, and greater future health. Dr Lim regularly sees infants to adults and has been able to pinpoint the issues in infancy that lead to bigger problems down the track.
She is passionate about educating child health professionals from a variety of fields to recognise the earliest warning signs of poor airway heath including poor oral function and poor jaw development and promoting collaborative care to address these as early as possible. Her vision is to help more children receive timely care to breathe, sleep and thrive to their full potential, and avoid growing into more serious problems later in life.
