In the 1970’s Perth orthodontist Dr Bill Brogan performed palate expansion for approximately 2000 children who had impaired nasal breathing in collaboration with ENT surgeon Dr Lindsay Gray. These children were largely referred from the medical community.
They published their results on 310 consecutive cases in an international ENT journal in 1975, yet along the way, and with the passing of Dr Gray, this medical/dental collaboration was discontinued in Perth.
This intervention helped children as young as four years of age, breathe, sleep, speak, concentrate and grow better, and for many of today’s children, we cannot afford any further delay to rediscover this work.
For this reason, it was important to me to be able to document and share Dr Brogan’s experience and insights, and his further insights can be found in the description of the video.
