Inspiration by Integration

I am gladly writing to you with a brief endorsement of the event, “Inspiration by Integration.” I was EXACTLY that - very inspired by seeing how things have to integrate to provide the best all around care for sleep patients. A lot of illnesses, even COPD have now conference sessions called: “The early beginnings” or “The origin of disease”. We have looked at old patients with OSA long enough without ever asking “How did it all begin?” The speakers were excellent and also passionate and very inspiring. They opened my eyes as to what sleep medicine is overlooking. It was also refreshing to discuss sleep with dentists, orthodontists and surgeons. The meeting made me re-think my current practice and I will push more research and training and ultimately integration of these specialities into our practice in South Australia. I did not hold back to tell all my colleagues what they missed out on and I will hopefully bring some of them along to attend Part 2! We need “rapid expansion” to arrive in Australia.

What and amazing event. It was great to see so much open dialogue from different aspects of the dental and medical field. Hats off to Shereen Lim for bringing us all together.

What an amazing, awesome two days thanks to the tireless efforts of Shereen Lim, who is a true lionheart in my book. She got together dentists, maxillofacial surgeons, ENTs and sleep physicians to learn how we can collaborate to provide the best care for sleep apnea patients and prevent it in the first place. Absolutely inspiring weekend.

I am still on a high from the amazing event you hosted, I can’t say I’ve ever said that about any event I have been to. Thank you so much and you can definitely count me in for any future events!

Thank you for all your terrific efforts in putting this together, Shereen. It was a great collaborative meeting. I am glad I cancelled my all day operating session to be there it clearly should be the start of something far bigger and practice more widely acknowledged and implemented clinically. I really enjoyed this meeting…you did an amazing job of planning this! A HUGE success! One day in the next 3-5 years you will see your fantastic efforts to integrate these fields pay off. Just wait, it will happen.
